POWL is a drop-in service available to currently enrolled Parkland students as well as Parkland staff, faculty, and administrators. There is no need to make an appointment.

Services

We’ll help you do the following:

• Plan projects, draft ideas, document resources, and polish your work.

• Create and print work for Writing Lab faculty to review (computers/ printer available).

• Get the information you need, with free handouts on writing topics.

• Develop your proofreading skills; however, we do not proofread work for you.

Here is how POWL works:

• Online lab instructors use webcams/headsets: See and hear us during your session.

• Use your own webcam and/or headset so that POWL instructors can also see and hear YOU. However, webcams and headsets are not required for POWL.

• Upload your assignments directly! We can write on them, offer critiques, and send them back to you.
