MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

A certified/registered aromatherapist and massage therapist, SARA HOLMES is also a NCBTMB-approved provider with more than 10 years’ experience in healthcare. She is owner of Botanical Healing Arts and a contributing writer for the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy. Her professional memberships include the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, the Alliance of International Aromatherapists, and Aromatics in Action. Through CE Institute of Illinois, Holmes provides continuing education in massage and aromatherapy to therapists in Illinois’ top ten spas as well as to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Chinese Facial Massage & TMJ Techniques

An amazing facial massage treatment involving 25 Chinese pressure points and the application of two natural products (honey and macadamia nut oil).  With Debbie DeNardo, BS, LMT, BCTMB, learn how to help relieve tension, reduce facial lines, tone, uplift and enhance appearance and address TMJ discomfort for clients of all ages.

 

Prerequisites: Licensed massage therapists and advanced massage students only.

 

Special instructions:  One set of linens, a hand mirror, 2 washcloths, 1 hand towel, a headband, 2 medium size bowls to soak washcloths, and a thermal carafe for hot water.  Dress comfortably (best to bring a tank top to change into), wear no makeup and preferably no contacts.

Indian Head Massage for Chair & Table

A calming yet revitalizing Ayurvedic technique that focuses on the parts of the body most prone to tension and stress: the upper back, neck, shoulders, face and scalp. With Debbie DeNardo, BS, LMT, BCTMB, learn how to help shoulder tension, eyestrain, headaches, concentration, hair health and emotional stress for clients during a chair or table massage.

 

Prerequisites: Licensed massage therapists and advanced massage students only.

 

Special instructions: Bring one set of linens. Please have clean hair and use no hair products on the day of the class. If you have long hair, please bring a hair accessory to pull it back. Dress comfortably. For the table segment it's best to bring a tank top or spa wrap to change into.

A Delicious Taste of Thai Massage

“Lazy Man’s Yoga” from Thailand combines gentle stretching, acupressure, and breath work in one beautiful and meditative experience.  With Mary Wolters, LMT, discover the benefits Thai massage can bring to you or your clients, such as increased energy and relaxation.  Learn the proper use of leveraging weight and body mechanics, warm-up and centering practices, how to release bodily tension using acupressure points, plus much more!  This series is perfect for massage and physical therapists, yoga teachers, personal trainers, or any “lazyman.”


Bringing a partner is helpful, but not necessary. Please wear comfortable clothes that stretch. Eating lightly on this day is recommended. Drink plenty of water, especially after the workshop.  No experience in yoga or massage is necessary. If you own a yoga mat, small pillow and firm blanket, please bring them to class. Please bring an open heart and mind. Bringing a sense of humor is greatly appreciated.
