GWEN WILSON, owner of Nuptiae, The Wedding & Event Planners opened her business in 2003 after discovering an interest in events and specifically weddings while acting as the wedding coordinator for her church. With no formal business training, running Nuptiae has been a wonderful growing experience full of challenges.
She is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and local bridal groups, Bridal University and Central Illinois Wedding & Event Planners, serving as the launch president of that group. Wilson has also volunteered for non-profit groups CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Salt & Light Food Pantry, RTHS Band Boosters and the Champaign County Extention Master Gardener's program.
In addition to events Wilson has also discovered an interest in raising chickens. 5 years ago she started with 12 hens as an experiment. Most mornings you'll find her in the chicken coop, now filled with almost 70 chickens of different varieties. The care of the garden and chickens makes a nice alternative to spending the day with a nervous bride.
Gwen, her husband Todd and son Miles live in rural Gifford.
