BRUCE HINMAN has worked in the air conditioning and refrigeration field since 1978, and received his initial training in the United States Air Force. He has installed and maintained a variety of residential and commercial A/C and refrigeration systems. Bruce works at the University of Illinois and teaches at Parkland College.

 
 

EPA/R410-A Certification Training

Section 608, November 15, 1994, Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990: All technicians who handle chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) refrigerants must be certified through an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved testing facility.  This law may apply to you!

If you own or work for a company that services or disposes of appliances and industrial cooling equipment, at least one employee MUST be certified to purchase, use, and dispose of CFC refrigerants. Companies and individuals that fail to comply with this law are subject to fines up to $25,000.

 

EPA Section 608 Review and Testing

 

Stay in compliance with Clean Air laws with this 3-hour review session and EPA-approved test. Bruce Hinman will review proper procedures for EPA compliance during the morning session and administer the test in the afternoon. Once you complete and pass the exam, you will receive an EPA-approved certification card from ESCO Institute.

Standards for EPA Section 608 Technician Certifying Programs

 

R-410A Safety Review Session and Testing

 

HVACR service personnel need to know the facts to keep safe. The EPA established the phase out of the HCFC R-22 in new units.  Prepare for R-410A Safety Certification with Bruce Hinman. During the morning session, review safe handling, proper charging, operating characteristics, proper applications, and general use of R-410A refrigerant. In the afternoon, you will take the exam. Once you complete and pass the exam, you will receive an EPA-approved certification card from ESCO Institute. To prepare for the R-410A Safety Certification, participants are encouraged to pick up the manual prior to the review and testing session.
